The 2014 GMC Sierra and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado are going to be the most advanced and refined trucks ever produced in the more than a century of Chevrolet and GMC! Today at a press conference at 9:30AM General Motors Chief Engineer Jeff Rich spilled all of the details of the new trucks.
The interior is redesigned and quieter than ever. Check out the photos below! A big upgrade is that the interior will now be more connective than ever, with standard MyLink and IntelliLink as well as other features including BlueTooth, voice activation, etc.
The Sierra and Silverado offer a more confident drive than ever. General Motors believe that the safety features on these trucks are leaps and bounds above the competition! They will feature 4 wheel disk brakes, an automated locking differential, forward collision alert, lane departure, trailer sway control, hill start assist, stabilitrak, anti-lock brakes and traction control!
Finally, the most notable change is the all new exterior of the trucks. They offer a stronger and sleeker design with new aero-refinements. These will be a huge part of what contributes to the improved fuel efficiency. It will feature 5% less drag, and for the first time ever...Inlaid doors! The Sierra and SIlverado are also going to feature a 6.5 Foot Bed, which is larger than the 5.5 foot that comes standard now. Also new to the bed will be an EZ lift and lower tailgate that won't slam down as well as LED Lighting in the bed!

General Motors now has 54 facilities meeting the voluntary energy reduction challenge set by the EPA. General Motors has cut energy costs more than any other company nationwide and saved close to $90,000,000!
New to the list are 22 GM international Operations sites and two facilities in North America. These facilities join the 30 GM plants that are already that met the challenge last year. This was achieved by benchmarking energy use, upgrading to energy-efficient lighting, improving control of ventilation systems and automating the shut-down process of equipment that previously was shut down manually as well as process energy reductions. This is just part of GMs ongoing energy efficiency program dedicated to reducing GMs carbon footprint.
In 2012, the EPA named GM one of its Energy Star Partners of the Year for energy management.
