The attention to detail paid to the 2013 GMC Acadia is impeccable!

Last updated 4 years ago

The new 2013 Acadia has been redesigned and is more comfortable than ever. The designers of the all new Acadia had a ton to take into account.

GM Human Factors Engineer, Joan Hertely and her team spent hundreds of hours creating comfortable resting places that took angles, dimensions and the right materials to achieve maximum comfort.

In fact the Acadia's interior is so detailed, the team spent months properly planning how one of the most key comfort factors: The arm rests. Think about it...How exactly do you make it comfortable for 8 people (16 elbows) to rest?

The front center armrest needs to both slide and open for storage, and must be level with armrests on the front doors. The four rear outboard armrests are designed with cup holders, which need to be positioned to avoid spills. Optional second-row captain’s chairs have armrests that move with the seat backs and can be adjusted up and down, requiring additional design criteria.

Joan had this to say about the design of the work that went into this key feature of the Acadia:

“Once a layout is in place after having been evaluated and optimized over a hundred hours in a stationary buck, further testing continues out on the road,” said Hertely. “We took countless drives with Acadias, paying close attention to how each armrest feels on both elbows and forearms, because people rest their arms differently. And the cupholder integration was new, so we had to ensure a level of comfort with the holders in use.”

As the year draws to a close, the new models will be rolling out. However, if you're interested in an Acadia and are looking for a phenomenal value, check this out! You can purchase the 2012 GMC Acadia for 0% APR FOR 72 MONTHS!
