Looking for a way to pay for college?

Last updated 4 years ago

We all know that one of the main reasons high school students choose to not go to college is the financial burden it places on them. Let Buick help! We at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC would love to see one of the valley students win this scholarship.

Every year Buick offers the Achiever's Scholarship Program, which is funded by the General Motors Foundation.

100 students will receive a renewable grant of up to $25,000.00, 1 student who participates in a qualified engineering program will receive a 5 year scholarship. Additionally 1,000 students will receive a 1 time award of $2,000.00.

So who's eligible? Any incoming student, or current college student pursing a degree in science, technology, engineering and math. There are also related fields of study that you can find here.

"Students are graduating today with more than $25,000 in debt, hindering them with years of financial burden. Through the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program, the GM foundation is able to alleviate some of the financial hurdles, while fostering growth of the next generation of leaders for STEM-related fields" - Vivian Pickard, GM Foundation President

For more information about the Buick Achievers Scholarship, email Christopher Anderson at canderson@sweeneycars.com.

Parents: Ask your students to get information from their guidance councilors. We've mailed an informational packet to every high school in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana County.
