Who remembers the Buick Arena during March Madness last month? At the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans 422 fans competed in the largest game of knockout in history! A representative from the Guiness Book of World Records was on hand to confirm that the 1 hour 56 minutes too game was in fact a record.
The winner of the game won tickets ot the NCAA Boys Basketball Championship Game as well as $1,000.00. However, for Buick, this game was about much more than just setting a record. The event was part of a larger effort to promote current and former student athletes who are making a difference in local and world communities. Through the Final Four, Buick and Samaritan's Feet donate more than 5,000 pairs of shoes to children in need!
"The event was a lot of fun, the fans got really into the game and the record was a perfect tie-in to Buick's support of Samaritan's Feet and the campaign to "knockout" bare feet. -Amanda Mochan, Adjudicator, Guiness World Records.
