On Saturday March 10th, 2012 at the Light for HOPE dinner in Detroit, Michigan it was announced that the GM Foundation would be granting 2.5 Million Dollars in funds to the Focus: HOPE Fund. The money will fund initivitives, namely a program that will help students earn engineering degrees through partnership with select universities.
GM Board Member Diana Tremblay had this to say about the donation: "Through our $2.5 million grant to Focus: HOPE, the General Motors Foundation continues its long-standing support of the organization's education initiatives, this grant will continue the important work that Eleanor Josaitis began, and it will allow Focus: HOPE to continue its education programs that positively impact thousands in the Detroit community each year".
This donation is part of GMs commitment to our communities, and the revitalization of Detroit. Over the last decade the GM Foundation has donated over $50 Million to help improve education, increase access to cultural events and advance the overall quality of life within the community.
