Chevrolet has a long history of setting trends dating back to the Camaro and the Corvette. Well, Chevrolet is back at it again! Starting with the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic. The label tells potential customers loads of information about all the positive enviromental factors in all phases of the car: manufacturing, driving and recycling. Information included in the manufacturing phase will contain facts regarding the production and assembly of the vehicle. On the road information contains facts about fuel savings features, such as engine technologies, aerodynamics, etc. After the road information will tell customers how 85% of the weight of the car can be recycled. Not only will this information be available to the customer but all information on the labels is verified by an outside, nonbiased party: Two Tomorrows.
In addition to the information provided on the label, customers will also be able to visit a website (http://www.chevrolet.com/ecologic) devoted to the audit process done by Two Tomorrows which will give more detailed information regarding the facts listed.
General Motors North American President Mark Reuss had this to say regarding the new label: "Customers want companies to be honest and transparent about their environmental efforts and sustainability goals, and rightly so. Putting an Ecologic label on each Chevrolet is just one more way for us to share our environmental progress" As we mentioned this will debut on the 2013 Sonic and will eventually be on all Chevrolet models.
