Taking back the crown: GM is the world's largest automobile dealer in 2011!

Last updated 5 years ago

We wanted to take some time to share somethiing very special with our connected customers and potential customers. As a valley company, with strong ties to the General Motors Lordstown facilities, we here at Sweeney are proud to share some facts and figures with you as well as let you know what you can look forward to in 2012.

In 2011, General Motors was not only the largest of the US Automakers, oh no. In 2011 General Motors was the largest automaker in the world! In 2010 General Motors sold over 9 million vehicles! Of these vehicles, 4.76 million were from the Chevrolet Brand. Of these 4.76 million Chevys 231,732 were from the Cruze line...made right here in the Valley. That means that nearly 20% of General Motors US Sales were a direct result of the hard work of our valley's residents! That is something we are absolutely thrilled to be a part of!

Here's a few more interesting figures about the 2011 year for GM: US Sales totaled 1,175,812 automobiles, up 13% over 2010. International sales were also up, 48% in Russia and 21% in Vietnam, most noteably.

So what does General Motors have in store for 2012? Hopefully another record breaking year! In 2012 you will see the Spark make it's US debut, as well as the release of the all new, redesigned Malibu (photos below). In addition to great promotions and incentives, we are going to do our part to make this happen here at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC by continuing to provide outstanding customer service, and by continuing to be not only the valley's, but Ohio's* largest dealer! Come in today and see what we're talking about!
