The 2012 Chevy Silverado will soon be showing up at Chevrolet dealerships across the nation, offering superior towing capabilities, a quiet ride, and expansive passenger room.
An update on Motor Trend’s 2011 Truck of the Year, the 2012 version is stocked with an anti-skid system and head-protecting airbags. The Chevy Silverado offers four-wheel drive, USB iPod connectivity and options for a rearview back-up camera, leather upholstery and a navigation system. An extended cab has room for six people, with different décor options available.
Other updates from previous versions of the Chevy Silverado include standard cruise control, a spare tire lock and an EZ-Lift tailgate.
On the Road
The Chevy Silverado comes with two engine options, both of which provide confident acceleration around town and on the highway. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the steering is well-weighted, direct, and responsive. Despite the ample size and storage capabilities, the car is nicely maneuverable.
Advertised as a work truck and the best of its kind, it’s also available in LT and LTZ. The Chevy Silverado boasts a 360-horsepower 6.0-liter v8 engine and one of the highest-mile-per-gallon pickups in existence. The truck has the power to tow up to 21,700 pounds in addition to an exhaust-brake system to slow the truck on steep descents by capturing exhaust gasses.
