A while back we told you that Team Chevy would soon be switching from the well known Chevy Impala to an unnamed car. Well, today, that car was named. Meet the 2013 Chevrolet SS.
The V-8, rear-wheel drive performance sedan will make its US debut at the 2013 Daytona 500.
Chevy has been using the SS (Super Sport) designation on all of its high performance cars since the 1957 Corvette Prototype Race Car, and almost all long enduring nameplates have an SS edition. However, this is going to be a whole new entity. The SS will be derivative of the award-winning architecture that spawns performance cars such as the Camaro but will have significant technological advances that have yet to be announced. Take a look at the camouflaged beast doing some track trials below, and then take a look at the only picture known to exist of the badge.
The best part? Unlike the upcoming Camaro COPO, this car will actually be available for sale! You can expect to see the SS make its showroom debut in late 2013, early 2014 and will be available limitedly produced for purchase.

The Buick Enclave, recently named the industry's top selling three-row luxury crossover, is starting with a clean sheet. So, who has the stressful job of putting this task on their shoulders?
Meet Nick Barkley. Nick has been a General Motors sculptor and designer for 12 years now and is the head of the Enclave project. The overall goal of the 2013 Enclave was to evolve the exterior while still preserving the overall identity. So what changed? It includes a revised front and rear fascia, LED lighting, a new hood and black-chrome waterfall grilled, integrated exhaust outlets, new wheel designs and other monochromatic design elements!
When asked to name the most challenging element of the new design, Barkley said that the waterfall grille was no easy task. He pointed out that the grille went through countless iterations before one emerged that he liked and met GMs specifications.
Take a look at some of Barkley's works that aren't related to General Motors! They're amazing! In his free time he creates life-size clay and wood sculptures inspired by artists like Bernini and Michelangelo.

Are you planning a summer road trip? Here's some advice to help you out with your planning.
1. Research
Do it online and discuss it with other travelers. For some inspiration browse pictures, journals and videos that people have posted.
2. Plan
Make sure to write all this down so you don't forget and so that everyone is on the same page!
Decide what day/time you're leaving and when you'll be back.
Figure out who's coming with you
Decide what place(s) you'll be going.
Decide where you'll be staying.
How are you going to get there?
3. Estimate the total cost.
Be sure to include food, gas, sleeping arrangements and any other activities. If the trip seems expensive, look for discounts! You can normally find them online. Work around the price, too! If you're traveling to another state to visit family, see if you can stay with them. Buying gas cards for the trip is a great way to save money. Most places give you a discount on gas when you use them! Just make sure to plan ahead and see how many are around your location.
4. Find a pet sitter if you can't take Fido and Mr. Snickers with you.
5. Get your car ready
The most common problem that arises on vacations is car trouble. Prevent this by bringing your car into a certified service department for a tune up and oil change. To help you cut down on the cost of your vacation, print this coupon, then call and schedule your appointment:
6. Pack plenty of entertainment for you and your family (if its a family vacation).
Nothings worse than a road trip hearing "Are we there yet?" for 6 hours.
7. Load the car!
Make sure you have everything that you'll be needing including clothing, medicines, gifts, etc.
8. Enjoy!
This is your vacation! Relax! Leave work at the office, it will be waiting when you get back.
